The Bear Valley Lodge is an authentic, rustic mountain retreat nestled in the Sierra Nevada along the breathtaking Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway. Whether you're venturing over the pass, exploring miles of backcountry trails, or simply answering the call of the mountains, we're so glad you found us. This is your home away from home in the high Sierra.

Just two miles up the road, Lake Alpine awaits at 7,300 feet, a stunning Alpine gem where you can swim, kayak, fish, hike, or bike along its pristine shores. When the day is done, come back and settle in. Here at the Lodge, the beauty of the Sierra surrounds you, the air is crisp and clean, and everything you need is right where you need it.

$20/NIGHT RESORT FEE

A deposit equal to the first night's room rate plus 14% tax is required per room at the time of booking.

A nightly resort fee of $20.00 per room applies to all reservations. This fee covers year-round benefits and seasonal services for each registered guest.

SMOKING POLICY

Bear Valley Lodge is a non-smoking facility. Smoking of any materials in guest rooms is subject to a $250 penalty.

PET POLICY

Pet-friendly rooms are available upon request and must be booked directly through us. Please call ahead to confirm availability before booking.

We're happy to welcome well-mannered, fully trained dogs at the Bear Valley Lodge. To ensure a comfortable stay for all guests, please review the following:

​

  • Limited pet-friendly rooms available — call ahead to confirm.

  • No weight restrictions for dogs.

  • A non-refundable cleaning fee of $25 per nightwill be added to your room charge. This fee is waived for service animals.

  • Dogs may not be left unattended in guest rooms at any time.

  • Dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture. Please bring your own pet bedding.

  • Owners are responsible for any damage or disturbances; additional fees may apply.

  • For the safety of your pet and our staff, housekeeping will only enter the room if:

    • The pet is not present.

    • The guest is present and can monitor the pet.

    • The pet is secured in a crate or carrier.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Reservations cancelled prior to 7 days before your arrival date will receive a refund of the first night's room deposit, less a $15.00 cancellation processing fee per room booked. Cancellations made within 7 days of your arrival date will result in forfeiture of the first night's deposit for each room reserved. Please note that cancellations or no-shows due to forces of nature, road closures, or pandemics are non-refundable.

Adults: $10/day
Children 12 & under: $5/day
Ages 2 & under: Free

Memberships
Individual: $49/month or $99/season
Family, two or more: $99/month or $149/season

Passes and memberships may be purchased at the front desk.
