Dual Fun Race Scheduled Memorial Weekend to benefit Bear Valley Search and Rescue
Bear Valley, Ca - Local organizers announced today that a late season race has been planned to raise money for the Bear Valley Search and Rescue. The event, named the “Slush Cup”, will allow skiers, snowboarders and telemark skiers an opportunity to race in a head to head dual course format on one of Bear Valley Mountain Resort’s easy intermediate runs called Rodeo. The ski area’s Super Cub lift will be used to transport racers to the top of the race course. Registration is from 8:00am to 9:00am in the Sun Room. A practice course will be available from 9:00-9:30am followed by the race which starts at 9:30am. A post race awards ceremony, raffle and BBQ will be held at 1:00pm on the deck of the Creekside Dining Room located at the Bear Valley Lodge in Bear Valley Village. Adults and kids alike are welcomed to participate in the race and activities. You can pre- register for the Slush Cup by contacting the Bear Valley Lodge at 209 753 2327.
The cost to participate is $30.00 and includes lift ticket, race entry
fee, BBQ lunch, event
t-shirt and raffle. All proceeds from the event will be given to the Bear
Valley Search and Rescue. This non-profit organization provides extremely
important emergency services in of support local law enforcement looking
for missing or lost individuals and most recently participated in the
search and successful recovery of lost skier Louie Viera from the rugged
Mokelumne Canyon in April of 2006.
