What:
Bear Valley Mountain Resort is selling a piece of its history. The resort's old Hibernation Lift is out of the ground, making way for a new high-speed quad lift that will begin operation in the 2006-07 ski season, and the old ski chairs are up for grabs.
Bear Valley season pass holders can purchase their little bit of the resort for $200, or $250 for non-pass holders. Chairs will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be purchased in-person or by phone at 209-753-2301 extension 0.
An appropriate vehicle is needed to transport the chair (each weighs about 100 lbs and are six feet tall). Bear Valley staff will be on hand to help load chairs into vehicles. Chairs must be picked up no later than September 15th and there are no returns or refunds.
When:
Bear Valley's current office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and can be purchased in-person or by phone at 209-753-2301 extension 0.
Special Saturday Sale - Bear Valley will be open on Saturday, July 22, from noon to 5 p.m. when visitors may come by the office, pay for a chair and head to the top of the parking lot to pick it up the same day.
Where:
Bear Valley is conveniently located on scenic all-weather Highway 4, regionally located between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. No traffic restrictions are reported for the area.
