Food and Beverage Manager –
Job Summary
Responsible to ensure efficient operations and highest quality of food and beverage services including management of, and accountability for, the people, processes, budgeting and execution of all responsible food and beverage areas on a daily basis. As Product Manager for F&B, responsible to evaluate, design and propose new F&B product offerings (meals, drinks etc). As a team member of the BVMT leadership group, participation and contribution in the development and implementation of the BVMR strategies and plans is critical.
Principal Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Food & Beverage (F&B) Operations at BVMT
- Ensure that all employees are provided with the necessary training, tools and equipment to productively perform their jobs. Creates and maintains a safe, secure environment for all employees, guests and company assets.
- Monitor the performance of the F&B Department customer satisfaction. Initiate corrective action.
- Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Initiates corrective action.
- Implement and follow through on company programs in all cost management to include: purchasing programs and procedures, productivity and payroll control, budgeting, capital improvements,
- Maintain adherence to all company accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure the timely completion of monthly, annual and year-end inventory.
- Establish and maintain a pro-active human resource function to ensure employee, communication, motivation, training and development, wage administration and compliance with established labor regulations.
- Establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of F&B Department.
- Inspect food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
- Develop, design and propose new F&B product offerings (meals, drinks etc) which result in an increased level of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Manage in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
- Manage in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Supervise F&B staff and ensures effective communication through weekly meetings and ongoing feedback. Maintain a high personal visibility throughout the F&B Department.
- Prepare reports and statistics for areas of responsibility as required.
- Participate in company management and leadership development programs.
- Perform recruiting, interviewing, staff selection and performance evaluations as required.
- Promote and assist interdepartmental cross training and functions as necessary.
- Other tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5 years or more hospitality food service operations management experience
- Proven ability in leadership and management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and computer skills including spreadsheets and word processing, email and internet navigation
- Strong team player
Bear Valley promotes a strong team environment, where staff members are cross-trained in other functional areas of the resort. The Food and Beverage Manager is a participant and key promoter of this team environment in our goal of providing excellent guest service. All Bear Valley staff members are expected to participate in fulfilling positions on a temporary basis or as long as the service is needed. Other duties as assigned will include but not be limited to positions such as cashiering/sales, main office/administration, rental shop, any retail, parking attendant, snow removal and lift operations. Prior to assuming any one of these positions, training will be provided to ensure proper job knowledge of each position.
